REMEMBERING JUNE 5TH

Today has been a particularly wonderful day. It's actually been a pretty great weekend. I was up early on Saturday to serve in the Temple. It never disappoints, and even though I go there to serve others, I always come home lifted a little higher.  Thank you Temple friends.

I returned home and packed a quick overnight bag and then headed off to Amherst with Bill. We checked into the Comfort Inn, then headed out for a nice dinner. It was nice to have some special time  with my husband. After a good night sleep we rose early and headed to Mount Allison Univ. for a church gathering. ( both stakes...NS, NB, PEI and a few from NFLD)

The occasion was a visit with one of the Lord's Apostles, Elder Dale G. Renlund and his wife . Travelling with him was another church leader, Elder Gong and his wife. It was an awesome meeting....inspiring talks, insightful direction and simply a spiritual feast. The music was also very uplifting. The total combination of word and music filled my heart and soul and once again reminded me of the many blessings that I have in my life. The knowledge that I have been blessed with through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ gives my life such great meaning and direction. It is such a great comfort to know my Savior as I do, and to see his hand in my life and the lives of many others. I continue to be amazed at the great sacrifice that Jesus made for ME. Better understanding this gift of the atonement is a goal that I will continue to improve on.

Following the gathering at Mt.A....a second gathering was planned in Moncton. Elder Renlund and his wife met with those of us who serve in the Temple and our spouses. I am grateful that Bill was at my side for this ( as well as the morning) This gathering was a much smaller group and well I'm truly not sure what words could best describe it. Let's just say that I could not hold back tears by the end of it. What a powerful disciple Elder Renlund is for the Lord. He spoke to my heart, and increased my hope where it often feels drained and despair. Prayers were answered today. How grateful I am to serve in the Temple. ( side note...It was exciting to learn that David and Veronica Veinot have been called as our next Temple Pres....I love that couple and they are such wonderful examples....they drove with us for part of the journey today...bonus!!)

So there you have it...and you know I can't close without a photo or three...
