OH MY.......big sigh

I've had a pretty amazing day. So why the big sigh ??? I am sitting in my quiet space/craft room and can see so many things that I could be doing.....like way too many things....cards, sewing, TV, books...but fortunately I realized that in my haste to get to church today, I neglected my Book of Mormon. Now I just have to state hear that this is an amazing piece of writing. If you haven't read it...JUST DO IT

I like to make notes as I read and with the one chapter that I read tonight I think that I wrote about almost every verse. I wrote at the end....WOW WHAT A CHAPTER. One of my favorite principles from this reading came at the end where the writer testified that a man MUST be obedient to the commandments of God. It wasn't 'should try'...it was MUST. Pretty strong I thought....but hey if you're reading this I want you to know that I believe this to be true. I also believe wholeheartedly that the secret ( well not really a secret) to pure joy in this life is OBEDIENCE to God. I've seen way too many people learn this and then choose otherwise...and well...big sigh...they give away so much true joy.

So my amazing day....hey it's Sunday....of course it's amazing. Church was wonderful. I arrived to find that a secret someone had my Sunday school class all set up.THANK YOU !!!!! Our Sacrament talks were all inspiring about Faith...thanks speakers ( Susan, Jessica and Tanner). Sunday school was pretty good....thanks to all the contributors....I do enjoy teaching this class even if it stresses me every week. Relief Society ( I love being there) was perfect !!! Again a fabulous lesson taught by my sweet friend Monica. She teaches with such a strong spirit in her lessons.

The afternoon was restful, Bill cooked a nice dinner and now I'm having some 'me' time.

The past week has been busy but good. The Temple was incredible as always....I do love serving there!!!!!!!!!

We had a card making get together last night with Lesley teaching us and the projects and treats were
grand. I enjoy the friendships of my card making friends. Good to have time together. It does make me miss my Kathy even more...so glad that she joined us via facetime !!! I MISS MY DAUGHTER KATHY!!!!!!!!

photo time.....

WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO.......

It is a beautiful Wednesday morning. The sun is shining, and there is a chill outside. I'm off to a slow start ( by choice), caught up on sleep and feeling some energy return. Yesterday was a tired day ( having little sleep the night before),and then it turned into a busy day ....shopping,sewing, cleaning, cooking....wham the day is gone!!! Oh I did also have a lovely visit with my neighbor Reta, and my special VTs, Monica and Samantha. What a great team they are. Mixed into all of that were hugs and cuddles with Olivia and Sophia. I am so very grateful !!

Now it is Wednesday....I've enjoyed more scripture time....oh how I love to be taught through my reading.....hear are some topics for today .... just from two chapters...
-consequences of Choice
-acknowledging the Lord in ALL things
-by small means the Lord can bring about great things
-OBEDIENCE is sooooooooo important
-Nephi told to build a ship- he replies give me the design!!! such a faithful attitude
-Nephi knows his scriptures 'ye know'
-some are swift to do iniquity, but slow to remember the Lord ( even after seeing angels and hearing his voice)
-such feeling....'my soul is rent with anguish'
-GOD IS THE SOURCE OF NEPHI'S POWER and Nephi acknowledges this in all things at all times. We should too!!!

Final thought which keeps coming to my mind.....

Why do you do what you do....when you know what you know.

Off I go.....Wednesday is waiting.

MONDAY

Another week off and running. Karen gave me a wake up text and that was great. I headed for my scriptures, and quite enjoyed that peaceful time to read. Two impressions from today...REMEMBER thou the covenants and  What must it have been like to be shown such visions ? How must Nephi have felt ? How does today's prophet feel about the revelations that he receives???

I didn't get to blog right away ( another fun habit) because Miss Olivia arrived. I had got some laundry in, and Olivia and I decided that we needed to make some cookies . Cookies done we headed to the basement/playroom and I successfully got the old VCR working. Yeah for me. So while folding laundry, we watched Pocahontas 2. Certainly a better ending than Pocahontas 1. I did some general tidying up/purging then I put in an old video ( home  movie) which was priceless.

Lunch is done and Miss Olivia is tucked in for her nap. She's so good for me at nap time!! Laura and Sophia are on their way back from Bridgewater so I'm hurrying off to finish some chores to free me up for cuddles with the baby!!  Life is good

SUNDAY

I am grateful for Sundays. It is my day to attend church, renew my covenants by partaking of the Sacrament, attend  Sunday school ( and teach), and lastly attend Relief Society. Now many will say that's a lot of church ( 3hours) but that's not much out of our 168 hours of the week.

The Sacrament talks today were about Faith and Repentance. All very well delivered and definitely applicable. Sunday School focused on the birth and early life of the Savior, and the testimonies of those who received this special baby to the earth. Relief Society was about prayer and taught with inspiration by our Relief Society president, Ashley. Once again a Sunday all you eat spiritual feast. I came home and read from my Book of Mormon, and received continued knowledge. That should totally arm me to meet this week.

Laura and Sophia are off to the South shore for a few days so the house feels very empty. I laid down for a wee nap, and except for one interruption I slept until 6pm. Thought that I'd close with a few more happy photos.

Oh my heart...It's SATURDAY.....and you never disappoint

I  have to say that once in awhile I'd like to sleep in on a Saturday. However, having said that, I love my Saturday service at the Temple. It always brings me back to that place of peace that I sometimes struggle to hang onto. I'm generally up by 6:15am and out the door by 7:15. Today I started my day with a chapter read from the Book of Mormon. This whole book is subtitled another Testament of Jesus Christ and as I've started today's read I can say that testimony is whispered on many many of the pages. Today I read 1 Nephi 12 and that was what  I heard as I read.

The Temple was lovely today....such a happy place. It was the day for Bill Frank's funeral across from the Temple at the Stake Center. Because of my Temple commitments I wasn't able to attend but it sounded like it was a wonderful tribute to him. Bill touched many lives and he will be missed.

Last but not least...I am continuing to love having Laura and Sophia here. I try not to think about them leaving. Friday was a fun day. After visit teaching in the morning, Laura and I took Olivia and Sophia went out side for some snow fun. Enjoy......
