FAREWELL TO 2014

So long to yet another year. It has highs and lows, but every year has...It's now Dec 31st.2014.
Laura and Jeremy just left for a New Year's Party, and sweet Sophia is sleeping soundly. Bill has gone to bed, and I'm finally taking some blogging time.

Highlights of my year.... well the blog really tells the whole story

We learned that grand baby #9 is on her way....to Laura and Jeremy
I turned 63 on February 9th
Aunt May died on Feb 11th. She was 101 years, and very dear to my heart.
June, I headed to Yorkton and my Fab five.....lots of fun until July
Home for August...quick trip to Maine with Bill, Karen and Olivia
Back to the west, Calgary, on Sept.16th to wait for Sophia May's arrival ( Oct.2nd)
Thanksgiving trip to Yorkton  with Bill, Connie, Laura, Jeremy, and Sophia
Lots of packing, then a road trip to move the Dunfords to Washington
Back home on Oct.30th
Another quick trip to Bangor in November
ahhhhhh December.....celebrated 39 years of marriage
lots of card making, and sewing
Quiet Christmas day
Dec. 26th....Laura, Jeremy and Sophia arrived; Mike, Keah and girls followed, Karen, Brandon and Olivia joined us.......Christmas dinner
Dec 27th....Christmas morning/brunch and gift opening
Dec.28th....Family pot luck

Those are some highlights.....it's been a busy December.....grateful to have family here but missing my Kathy and her family so much.  They had a sad Christmas with the sudden passing of their nephew/cousin William
(17yrs) son of Kevin and Natalie. A week later, Jeff's aunt died.

So there goes another year....I continue to quilt some, card make, read, teach Sunday School, serve at the Temple, mind Olivia while Karen teaches, and whatever else needs doing.

I would say that Sophia is the sweetest highlight of the year.
I would say worrying for those that I love deepest is my constant low.....a mother hates to see her children experience struggles, and heartaches.
I would say I'm most grateful that I'm able to travel to be with my 'away' children....and grateful also to have two children and their families close by.
I would say that 2014 was a good year, and my life continues to be overflowing with blessings from the Lord.

I'll close this post with some December photo magic.....farewell 2014
