Raindrops from Yorkton

It's yet another rainy day in Saskatchewan...probably creating yet another record of some sort. There is flooding everywhere...inside and out. Church was shortened to just one hour as roads are flooding, and many have wet basements to deal with. It was a good Sacrament meeting none the less...with a good talk about Priesthood, testimony by newly called leaders in YW, and wise words from our BP.
Decided it might be a good day to add to my blog.

As mentioned it has been a wet week, on and off. The sun has been here a wee bit, but hardly enough to dry things out much. Wednesday was awards day at school for the older grades and both Jessica and Sarah were on school honor roll. Jessica also received a band award. Lots of Spirit at that school. This was followed with an all school family BBQ..well organized and fun to attend.

Kathy and Jeff got away for Thursday and Friday to attend the Michael Buble concert in Winnipeg. Bill and I had the Fab five to ourselves which was fun. Thursday there was no school so we hung out together, did a McDonald's trip, played games, and watched a movie. Friday the kids only had to drop by the school to receive report cards.( In and Out) I took the four graduates on to the bookstore for a traditional end of school 'new' book.

Cute teacher thank you gift cards

First Grade field trip in Saskatchewan

A few weeks ago I received a text message from Kathy on behalf of Georgia. It was an invite to go on her class trip to Good Spirit Lake. Today was the big day, and armed with bug spray we headed out together on our adventure.
The day was beautifully sunny and not too hot. Georgia's teacher is a soft spoken sweetheart and the children were all delightful to be around. We had a 45 minute school bus ride.
Then after meeting in the recreation hall we got directions then headed with our group to the dunes. What an incredible lake....surrounded by sand, even purple sand. Our leader didn't get us all the way to the dunes
( disappointing), but the hike was interesting and oh so beautiful.
Following the hike we rested and ate lunch. Then it was off to explore the pond....rather a wet experience of overflowed boots, but the children enjoyed it. Once they dried up, and put back on dry running shoes it was off to the playground. The event ended with lovely large freezes to cool everyone off. It was a fun day and I'm happy that I got to share it with my Georgia.
After a yummy pizza dinner it was off to just one soccer game....a super one with Sarah's team. ( she even scored...although I missed it because I had to do a bathroom run!!!)
Another winning day comes to an end and the bed looks pretty good.

Soccer action with Sarah....she does run, and she scores!!!

and finally.....these photos shared from Prom night in New Germany...my darling girls, and their big brother Berke
